Ahead of Connacht’s opening PRO12 game at home to Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday, the medical team provided the following update.

Api Pewhairangi
Api Pewhairangi injured his knee in the pre-season game away to Castres earlier this month and it has been confirmed as a partial rupture of the ACL. The 23-year-old is expected to be out of action for up to three months.

Niyi Adeolokun
Niyi Adeolokun suffered a PCL strain in his knee. The winger had a scope last week to repair the minor damage and is expected to be unavailable for approximately four weeks.

Dave McSharry
25-year-old centre Dave McSharry was concussed in the pre-season win over Munster. He continues to go through the return-to-play protocols.

Darragh Leader
Darragh Leader sustained a ligament strain to his wrist in the game away to Munster. The Galway-born back has seen a consultant and will remain in a plaster and sidelined for the next three weeks.
