AUDI ATHLONE TEAM UP WITH BUCCANEERS RFC
AUDI ATHLONE is pleased to announce it is continuing as title sponsors to Buccaneers Rugby Football Club for a fourth season.
AUDI ATHLONE and Buccaneers have much in common, both striving for performance and distinction, with style and power key elements to their combined ambitions. Buccaneers, who play in Dubarry Park, Athlone, compete in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League. Their young squad will be bidding to build on the progress made in recent seasons as they aim for promotion to the topflight this term. Their youth and exuberance should ensure that their spirited play will be innovative and stylish, qualities associated with AUDI.
Welcoming guests and sponsors, Buccaneers President Ray Fagan stated that “the club is extremely proud that AUDI ATHLONE is again title sponsor for the coming season. AUDI is a superb and distinctive brand whose goals Buccs would be hoping to emulate. The club Buccaneers now field over 20 teams including a Girls underage side for the first time. Clubs simply cannot operate without financial back-up. Thus the generous patronage of AUDI ATHLONE is appreciated all the more in these challenging financial times.”
Mr. Ian Moore, on behalf of AUDI ATHLONE commented that they “are delighted to again support Buccaneers and are looking forward to continue working with the club as their official sponsor for a fourth season. It is a great honour to be connected with Buccaneers”. Mr. Moore added that “our colleagues in AUDI IRELAND are also delighted to be associated with a rugby club of the calibre and prestige of Buccaneers and they see our association as mutually beneficial”.
“It gives me and our staff a great sense of pride to be connected with such a creative and progressive team”, he continued, “that, like ourselves, is not phased by change or future challenges. Over the last year, AUDI ATHLONE has underwent substantial change and moved to a new state of the art showroom” where they employ close on 50 people. Ian invited everyone at the pleasant function “to visit us and have a coffee …… and you would never know what might catch your eye!” In conclusion, on behalf of all the team at AUDI ATHLONE, he wished Buccaneers, all members and loyal supporters great success and enjoyment during the coming season”.
Club Captain Alex Hayman also was grateful for the continued support of Buccs by AUDI ATHLONE. He assured those present that the players and coaching staff were working diligently as the countdown to the opening match gathered pace. He hoped there would be plenty to cheer about throughout the season.
