PARACHUTE OUTLINE
Parachuting is one of the most exciting sports of modern times. Enjoyment, exhilaration and limitless challenge are available to the beginner.
The most difficult part of parachuting is deciding to jump out of a plane.
Decision made – the rest is easy – simply book on a course.
1 Static Line Course.
This first jump will be from a height of 3,200 feet, using a canopy which automatically opens as you exit the aircraft. Then enjoy a 3-4 minute canopy ride back down to earth. This square/wing type canopy is very manoeuvrable, of a high performance giving a great degree of control over landing.
Training takes just one day, with a minimum of six hours instruction. This is a mixture of theory and practical drills in aspects such as: aircraft exits, canopy control and landings. Train and jump the same day (weather permitting). Students will be assessed on performance throughout the day.
The use of the square system uses the latest technology in canopy design. Students may progress onto Free-fall while using this system. If you enjoyed the thrill of jumping by yourself on a Static Line jump, then successive jump prices are just £35.00
2 Static Line 6 Jump Course.
This package starts off with the initial Static Line Course but with an additional five jumps. It is a cheaper option than undertaking a Static Line course and paying for the extra jumps one by one, as the additional 5 jumps are at a discounted price. These additional jumps you may undertake whenever you want, with a possibility of being on free-fall on the 6th jump. Also you will receive a logbook (records 300 jumps) on the completion of the 6th jump.
Max. weight limit for Static Line:Male 102kg (16 stone) Female 82 kg (13 stone) Clothed.
3 Tandem Sky-Dive. (Suitable for the disabled).
Using a dual harness the student exits the aircraft at 10,000 – 13,000 feet, attached to the instructor, experience the thrill of free-fall to 6,000 feet where the instructor opens the canopy and steers both persons to the ground. Train and jump the same day (weather permitting).
Maximum weight limit for Tandems: Male 95 kg/15 stone: Female 82kg/13 Stone Clothed.
Both courses take place on Saturday and Sunday (mid-week if numbers justify).
The Wild Geese is an affiliated British Parachute Association centre and all instructors are BPA registered.
On completion of your first jump a certificate and training record card will be awarded.
