Webb Ellis Cup set to visit France for final stop of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour
The Webb Ellis Cup, the most coveted prize in Rugby, will visit France next week for the final stop of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour.
The Trophy Tour, which is being delivered in partnership with Land Rover and DHL – two long supporters of the Game and Rugby World Cup 2015 Worldwide Partners – has been showcasing Rugby’s most coveted prize around the world for the past 12 months as part of a celebration of Rugby in the lead up to Rugby World Cup 2015.
The Webb Ellis Cup will be in Paris from Monday May 11 to Wednesday May 13 and will visit a number of locations in and around the city.
France will be the 15th and final country visited before the Webb Ellis Cup embarks on a 100 day Trophy Tour around the UK and Ireland, starting on June 10.
During the three day visit the Trophy will be joined by Wales and Racing Metro centre, Jamie Roberts and former French International’s Dimitri Yachvili and Serge Betsen.
Rugby World Cup, the third largest global sporting event behind the Olympics and Football World Cup, takes place in England and Cardiff this year between September 18 and October 31. The Tournament will be hosted in 13 venues in 11 cities across the country.
Rights free images of all the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour activity will be available daily via an FTP service – details will be shared on Monday May 11.
