WATTBIKE STRENGTHENS RUGBY RELATIONSHIP WITH ENGLAND WORLD CUP WINNER
As a further endorsement of its work with England Rugby, Wattbike, creators of the world’s leading indoor bike, have announced that England’s and Darlington Mowden Park Sharks’ Tamara Taylor will be an ambassador for the brand.
Thirty three year old Taylor is the second English rugby player to have joined the British brand this year – after Leicester Tigers and England forward Tom Youngs announced his ambassador role last month.
“I’ve been using Wattbike for the past few years and it’s played a big part in my training and recovery. In fact the whole of the England women’s squad use the bikes, so it feels like the perfect match for me,” explained Taylor.
Taylor, who played an instrumental part in England’s world cup winning squad added: “I’m still working full time whilst trying to train and compete at the highest level, so the Wattbike provides me with a great workout and all the immediate analysis I need when I’m short of time. The accurate and consistent measurements help me ensure I’m in the right training zones so I’m confident I’m training appropriately”
Taylor and Youngs have both been in action for England during the Six Nations, with the latter preparing for World Cup selection.
“The bike has really improved my power output, a key factor in rugby, and will be an essential piece of training kit in my preparations for this year,” said Youngs.
Wattbike’s Commercial Director, Richard Baker adds: We’re thrilled to be working with Tamara. It’s a big year for England Rugby and the women’s team has lead by example, so we hope to be able to draw on some of her experiences. Tamara’s professional approach and incredible work ethic are a great fit for Wattbike as she balances a full time job and training as an elite athlete at the top of her game.”
