Wales’ Falateau helps to launch BetVictor Welsh Open
Ahead of the Six Nations’ curtain between Wales and England on Friday evening, Wales’ ever-present number eight, Taulupe Faletau, took time out to launch World Snooker’s BetVictor Welsh Open at The Vale Resort in Cardiff.
The tournament starts on 16th February at the Motorpoint Arena and as part of the announcement regarding World Snooker’s return to the capital for the first time in four years, Faletau gave his thoughts on the key match at the Millennium Stadium.
“The England game is always one of the biggest for any team. The atmosphere in the last England game in Cardiff was one of the best I have ever heard. The crowd were phenomenal that day, it was scaryI can’t wait for Friday.”
The Tongan-born forward, who was speaking after playing a game of SHOOKTER (photos attached), is relishing the tournament opener and revealed his teammates are feeling very much the same way:
“The boys are massively excited for the game on Friday and are ready to go. We trained last week and earlier today and are looking forward to the challenge ahead. We’re learning and getting better all the time.
It’s hugely important to get off to a good start. This enables you to build up some momentum and you never know where that may lead. We don’t take notice of the odds at all, we have things we need to work and focus on as a team so we don’t let the pre-match hype affect us.”
