VIRGINIA RFC
Virginia U/18 Girls beat Armagh 25-10
On Sunday 25th January, the under 18 girls travelled to Armagh for their second match in the league, and their first one in six weeks following the Christmas break, They started the match with a try scored by Leah Gregory in the first few minutes, catching Armagh off guard, but Armagh responded quickly and before long they scored one of their own. Armagh scored a second try and the hosts were leading 10-5 when the half time whistle blew. The Virginia girls got themselves back on track and turned the game around completely in the second half, fighting hard for possession. The game continued with some excellent scrummaging and tackling from both teams. Amy Whitley and Ciara Brown scored two tries each and the final score ended 25 – 10 in Virginia’s favour.
Well done girls. Next week sees Virginia travel to Ballynahinch for their last game in the league.
