College rugby, those where the days.
There is so many things rugby is about and being a family sport it stays with us from mini level through our growing up years and then into adulthood and if your playing for the perrennials then it really never ends!

It was a pleasure to cover this game and see the passion all these guys have for the sport.

The game itself was good, with UUJ proving the better team defensively and in attack. Speaking briefly with the Belfast Met coach Nathan Moore who also coaches at Belfast Harlequins Ladies we discovered that the Belfast Met team is drawn from all a number of locations and they do not get many opportunities to train together. On that basis then we can only say that they were excellent and if they got some consistent training together they would progress significantly.

This was not a one-sided affair, Belfast Met had atleast 50% of the territory and mounted atleast 50% of the attacks. they were determined to score and did in the end to finish the game with the final try.

The game was won however by UUJ, they where more decisive in their attacks, bringing the ball forward at all times and taking their chances at the right time. A number of them will no doubt be also playing on the UUJ A team and it was excellent to see a decent crowd of spectators watching this local college derby.
Well done to both teams, and we hope they recover quickly from their “night on the lash” tonight before lectures start tomorrow.
Well done guys and looking forward to covering both teams again.
