Ulster Rugby has unveiled Domino’s Pizza as the new title sponsor of its mini rugby programme, in a deal announced today.

The sponsorship deal, which covers competitions open to children from 43 local rugby clubs and rugby playing primary schools across Ulster, marks a major investment by Domino’s Pizza in local sport across the region. Over 7,000 children are expected to take part in Ulster mini rugby festivals.

Simon Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director for Domino’s Pizza, said: “At Domino’s, we’re all big sport fans and we are very excited about this opportunity to show our commitment to grassroots rugby in Northern Ireland. Each one of our 20 stores here is an established part of its local community and this sponsorship shows our commitment to making a difference right here in Northern Ireland. We are very proud that our brand will be associated with such a well-regarded and tightly run operation – we just can’t wait for the games to get started.”

The partnership was welcomed by Phillip Polack, Business Development Manager of Ulster Rugby, who said: “In looking for a partner for our mini rugby offering, we were searching for an organisation that shared our belief that all sport, from grassroots to elite level is dependent on local excitement and local support. We’ve found that with Domino’s.

“We want Ulster mini rugby to continue in the same successful vein that it has done for many years, and the support of Domino’s Pizza will play a major role in helping us to realise that ambition. I am certain that this partnership will aid the development of youth rugby right across Ulster, as we strive to bring opportunities to the best young players across the province.”
