Coming to a total of 15 venues province-wide between July and August, the Ulster Rugby Sumer Camps, sponsored by Centra and its independent retailers, are for boys and girls aged 6-12 years. Each camp will last for five days.

There will also be a Senior Camp based at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, for 13-17 year old participants. This camp is aimed at boys and girls with previous rugby experience, and will focus on the technical, tactical, physical, mental and lifestyle aspects of Rugby Union.

Registration costs £65 per child for Junior Camps and £85 for the Senior Camp, with discounts available for a second family member. Prices include an Ulster Rugby kit bag, T-shirt, Rugby ball and voucher to an Ulster Magners League match.

Application forms are available from schools and rugby clubs across Ulster and are also available at local Centra stores. Parents can book and pay for camps online and full details of this year’s Summer Camps and how to book can be found on www.ulsterrugby.com

Places at the Summer Camps are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Organisers of the Summer Camps are urging parents to sign their child up for their chosen Summer Camp as early as possible and anyone who books before 20th June will be entered into a draw to win a brand new full Ulster Rugby kit for the 2010/11 season.

Ulster Rugby says the camps are an excellent opportunity for young people to get five days of physical exercise, develop their rugby skills under the supervision of fully accredited IRFU coaches, make friends and meet their rugby heroes in a fun and safe environment. Almost 1,200 young people will be able to participate in camps from Ballynahinch to Ballymena and Clogher Valley to Bangor.

Ulster Rugby Community Rugby Manager, Barry Willis, commented; “This year we’ve seen a great response to the Summer Camps, with a steady stream of bookings coming in each week. Camps can be booked easily online, by post or telephone or in person. There are still places available, but I would urge parents to book their children into their chosen camp as early as possible to avoid disappointment and also to take advantage of the early booking incentive.”

Centra Brand Manager Nicky Kelly added; “We are delighted to continue our support of the Ulster Rugby Summer Camps for a third year and it’s great to see they are proving as popular as ever. Centra retailers across the region are promoting the message that parents need to book early to be sure of their children getting a place in the camps.”

Application forms and full information on the booking process are available online at www.ulsterrugby.com and at local Centra stores. For further information email summercamps@ulsterrugby.com
