Wagamama, the positive eating and positive living pan-Asian noodle chain, has signed an all new sponsorship deal with Ulster Rugby.
The restaurant, which has a strong presence throughout Ireland, opened its doors in Belfast at the end of last year and, since opening, has worked with Ulster Rugby on various collaborations. This new deal celebrates what has been a successful relationship to date.
Christine Chung, the operations manager for Wagamama Ireland is delighted with the new venture; “Our brand prides itself in its ability to provide fresh, healthy and nutritious food so it’s exciting for us to be collaborating with one of the top sports teams in the country, for whom diet is so important, so I believe it’s a fantastic brand match for both of us. We have worked alongside Ulster Rugby over the past few months as our head chef, Juan Manteca, teamed up with the official Ulster nutritionist, Sharon Madigan, to create a cooking class for the players and those who took part learnt how to prepare fresh meals which appeal to their dietary and sporting needs. We hope that with our extra support this will be a successful season for the team!”
The team’s first competitive game of the new season will be on the weekend of the 2nd September when Ulster take on Glasgow in the first round of the RaboDirect Pro12 and Fiona Hampton, the Senior Sales Manager at the club, is looking forward to the benefits the new sponsorship will bring; “Ulster Rugby has fantastic backing from the sponsors each season and we’re delighted to include Wagamama in this. We also cannot ignore the outstanding support from the fans and to celebrate our new sponsor and to treat our fans to a little something extra, each season ticket holder will receive a 15% discount when they show their season ticket in Wagamama, Victoria Square until the end of the season. Plus, a number of lucky season ticket holders will also be invited to a meet and greet with the players in the Wagamama restaurant in Victoria Square on Tuesday 13 September from 6-8pm, so we look forward to seeing everyone there.”
