The draw for the Ulster Bank Junior Cup semi finals was made today in Dublin.
In the first semi final of the All Ireland competition, former winners Tullamore will be at home in their Spollanstown ground where they will take on Connacht side Wesport. Tullamore, made it through to the semi final draw courtesy of a 21 – 6 away win against Ulster side Academy in the quarter finals.
In the previous round, Tullamore had recorded a resounding 43 – 7 victory over Tipperary side Kilfeacle. Wesport accounted for two Ulster teams on their journey to the penultimate stage of the competition, beating Portadown away (8 – 0) and then Cooke (9 – 5) in Co. Mayo.
On the other side of the draw, it will be Connacht versus Ulster, with Monivea making it through to earn a home semi final against Coleraine after defeating two Leinster sides, Skerries (8 – 9) and Coolmine (13 – 0), in the previous rounds.
Coleraine have been impressive in their round one and the quarter final wins, but this will be their first away game in the competition, as both of their previous wins came at home against Tuam (34 – 6) and Dundalk (29 – 15).
Both matches will be played on Saturday, 4th February 2012 with a 2.30pm kick off.
