A sixth victory of the season keeps Harlequins in touch at the head of affairs as UCD were left to reflect upon a fourth defeat from nine outings.
Ian Porter, who converted four of the five Harlequins tries, was in good kicking form and with just two minutes on the watch, he opened the scoring with a penalty.
Soon after, a well-executed Harlequins scrum saw Olding gain possession and a wonderful turn of pace from the fly-half saw him clear to score under the posts, with Porter’s conversion opening up a 10-0 lead.
UCD responded with a Niall Earls penalty and the students were level when a superb break from hooker David Doyle led to Danny Kenny’s try, which was successfully converted by Earls.
Another Porter penalty saw Quins regain the advantage before McComb’s two tries; both converted by Porter, opened up real daylight for the visitors. Another quick break from Olding led to a fourth ‘Quins try, and a bonus point, with Porter’s conversion ensuring a 32-10 half-time advantage.
Second half tries from Danny Kenny and James Treacy brought a degree of respectability to the scoreboard from a UCD viewpoint but there was still time for Olding to score a fifth Harlequins try, with Porter once again on hand to convert.
