A group of 6 Ballymena Rugby Club Rascal coaches on 1st/2nd April 2011 are to run a lap of the main pitch of 24 rugby clubs across the entire province of Ulster non-stop over 24hrs to raise money for “Wooden Spoon” rugby’s charity for diadvantaged children. Their journey will take us to clubs from Ballymena, to Coleraine, City of Derry to Inishowen, Donegal to Enniskillen, Newry to Omagh and Banbridge to Bangor to name a few and the team will be travelling over 500 miles in order to complete the task. The target is £2,400 and they hope to engage a number of the clubs that they are running round to assist in helping achieve this target. Ulster RFC have agreed in principle that they can run round Ravenhill at half time and so depending on their confirmed fixture schedule the team will either start or end there. The team are indebted to sponsors IFS Global Logistics, SD Sports and AWS Promotions for team shirts and they have started a web page to gather on-line support; http://www.justgiving.com/BRFCRascalCoach or CLICK HERE
Over the course of the next 3 months the team will be holding one or two fund raising events to help reach the target and in the meantime any donations to their on-line web site would be gratefully received. All money raised will go towards projects to benefit children right accross Ulster.
