Northern Ireland’s debut men’s fashion show MAN TIME is back and this time it’s brought an entire men’s movement along for the ride. The Lord Mayor of Belfast’s official charity event for the monumental cause that is MOVEMBER.
The aim: To grow a moustache throughout the month of November and raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.
The rules: Guys go clean shaven on November 1st. Then they must grow and groom a moustache for the remainder of the month. No sideburns. No goatees. No beards of any kind. A true gent. The Mo Bro will be a walking, talking, moustache baring billboard for the Movember cause.
On Thursday, November 22nd at 7pm the Lord Mayor of Belfast Alderman Gavin Robinson will host a grand evening of cutting edge men’s fashion and exciting entertainment at the prestigious and historical venue of epic proportions, Belfast City Hall, to celebrate the Mo Bros Movember journey and to usher in the Autumn/Winter season with Man Time’s trend setting catwalk show. The Lord Mayor said “Whilst Movember raises tremendous awareness for Men’s Health on a global scale the Fashion industry in Northern Ireland contributes immensely to Belfast’s economy and growing creative sector. I am extremely proud to support both by opening the City Hall to such a prestigious men’s event.”
Men’s seasonal looks will be provided from the House of Fraser as one of the main sponsors alongside a range of local stores, whilst our talented pool of young and established fashion designers David Henderson, Nor Lisa and Sean Henry of Van Der Simon display their latest A/W collections. The talented trio of FashionCREEP! will also be creating an exclusive range of reworked and customised Autumn/Winter jackets.
Celebrity groomer and male icon Jason Shankey, as host of several Movember events over the past few years, is on board to give all male-models the necessary Mo Bro treatment. Jason’s team will be grooming the guys for the catwalk whilst also offering tips on how to sustain, trim and tailor a moustache in the correct manner. Jason said “This will be the most prestigious men’s event in the 2012 calendar.”
