ITALIANS VISIT THE GLEBE
We had an end of season Family Fun Day today at the Rugby Club in the Glebe for Minis and Youth and their families.
We asked Davide Tullio of La Fantasia, the local Italian restaurant if he would like to sponsor a few pizzas for 2 o’clock delivery. He said that he would do Pizza, Pasta, Risotto and Meatballs, with fresh Garlic Bread.
He arrived at 1.00 with a full kitchen complete with Pizza oven loaned from Thermequip. He brought two chefs and two more staff, all in pristine La Fantasia uniform. Within minutes the smells were making us all hungry. From 2 to 3 he served 300 meals and everyone ate until full What a treat for the Rugby Club.
The Italian Team may not have beaten the Irish team, but these Italians have just won over a lot of new Supporters in Letterkenny.
Davide offered to do this was because we told him the event was to promote Fight Night in the Tassie on May 18th and Coastal Cancer Challenge on July 21st. He said that if we were so committed to raising money for charity then the least he could do was provide the food – but what a contribution ! We are all flabbergasted at his generosity. He even sponsored some of the fighters for Fight Night just after he fed them.
