IMPATIA’S FILOTTO billiards and LUNGOLINEA ping pong: great time around these tables and a super posh way to have fun doing sport!
FILOTTO is IMPATIA’s first product, giving new life, new characteristics and new values to a classic item. The Italian word ‘filotto’ refers to the billiards game and identifies a super shot which tears down an entire row of skittles at once.
The design, construction and workmanship of this work of genius are all Italian – the highest expression of the technological sophistication of the craftsman that have always distinguished this country from the rest of the world.
Filotto is the classic game of billiards, an emblem of leisure originating from the palaces of the bourgeois which has since become a popular sport across the generations. The first challenge has been in recreating a product with such long history but so little evolution.
The magic lies in having realized a thin, steel frame, which is both adjustable, divisible, and supports the solid slate surface, as well as the crystal structure that characterizes this new design. The unique feeling of seeing a 600 kg billiard ‘float’ on four legs is second only to the pleasure of playing on this Italian masterpiece that possesses the sign of Adriano Design.
FILOTTO takes the center stage of the poshest living and game room around the globe as it is not only an amazing piece of design but also a professional pool table, whose playing field is made of Italian slate covered with wool cloth. As it is manufactured upon order only it can be customized perfectly fitting every room, matching the wool cloth’s colors with the one of the handmade pockets’ leather engraving the crystal glass or giving a touch of gold by plating the metal components.
FILOTTO pool table is the expression of its owner’s personality and desires; it reflects his lifestyle and his need of beauty and exclusivity, his will to experience the extraordinary.
The IMPATIA’s crystal glass tennis table LUNGOLINEA is a vision, a desire to ambitiously reinterpret the classics. It demonstrates the sophistication and ingenuity of Italian design and craftsmanship in the game of Ping Pong. It is a refined object, a sublime witness of the most advanced Made in Italy technology that poses no limits to the game.
Giving a new guise to a game born in the eighteenth century is an incredible challenge. Its designers, Adriano Design, already knew what they were undertaking when they were asked to redesign the Ping Pong table and transform it into a superlative object of design.
The idea of playing on a transparent game table seems unimaginable, but thanks to a series of spectacular inventions it is now possible for even the most competitive professional players to enjoy a Ping Pong challenge on a table entirely made of crystal glass.
Professional dimensions and performance are guaranteed, that’s also why LUNGOLINEA has always been appreciated all around the world – Chinese felt in love with it and “ouh! They know”. A piece of design to cherish, a luxury Ping Pong table for the most refined houses and an elegant dining or meeting table comfortably hosting 12 seats. Sure! By removing the net kit indeed, LUNGOLINEA become a table that has pure lines and really fits everywhere.
It is manufactured upon order only, thus it can be customized according to its owner’s desires: a splash of colors by choosing his favorite for the net or a touch of gold or pink gold by plating the metal components and the table is ready to welcome his friends and letting them enjoy it. No one is too shy to try, everyone will smile and fun is guaranteed.
Play on it! Eat on it! Work on it! Love it!

Just Nips
Just Nips are the *official* stick-on nipples and the brain child of Molly Borman.
www.justnipsforall.com
Molly, who hates writing about herself in the third person, is going to take over from here.
Wow third person really sucks, right? Hey – it’s me, Molly! Anyway, thanks so much for coming to check out Just Nips! I KNOW you’re going to be obsessed. In fact, you probably already are!
Everyone always asks me how I got to this point (running a fake nipple company and all) so long story short, I love the look and made it happen. I spent every free second in 2016 bringing Just Nips to life, from packaging design to market testing and everything in between.
From the start, I always knew Just Nips would be involved with breast cancer awareness and care in some way, but I wasn’t sure how.
Initially, my main focus was to have accredited self-check breast exam instructions printed on the inside of each and every box, but I quickly learned that breast cancer organizations wanted nothing to do with Just Nips without a hefty donation on our end. This was frustrating, to say the least, because I knew we didn’t have the money…. but we did have Just Nips.
As the product gained publicity, women from all over the world reached out to share their stories about post-mastectomy life without nipples. Instead of directing them to our Shop page, I asked for their mailing address and we shipped samples out immediately free of charge. It was the least we could do.
So, that is how our donation program started. And now it’s way more official. We have successfully donated over 1,000 Just Nips to various breast cancer associations and women in need across the country.
Oh and P.S. coming soon, each box of Just Nips will have self-check breast exam instructions printed on the inside.

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS
A THIRD OF FESTIVAL GOERS DON’T BRUSH THEIR TEETH
Over a third of Brits don’t brush their teeth during a five day festival
Over 40% of consumers would prioritise baby wipes or loo roll over their toothbrush at a festival
Over 80% of British singletons would refuse to dance with someone again if they had bad breath
Over a third of consumers find bad breath more of a put-off at a festival than any other factor – including being badly dressed, having B.O or having bad chat
Almost 70% of Brits eat and drink all the festival food they want, irrespective of the damage it causes to their teeth
Festival season 2017 is upon us and and as the weather heats up and you get ready to pack your wellies for Glastonbury, Wilderness and Latitude, the big question is not who will be the headline acts, but rather, will you be brushing your teeth?!
A shocking new survey conducted by YouGov and POLO® Sugar Free Mints, reveals that of the two thousand participants asked, over a third neglect their dental hygiene completely – forgetting the importance of brushing their teeth during a five day festival. Not the nicest thought as you cosy up to your friends in the tent or rub shoulders with them at the main stage.
The survey, undertaken this week, also showed that bad breath was more of a put off at a festival than any other factor – with over a third saying that it is worse than being badly dressed, having B.O or having bad chat and with over 80% of British singletons refusing to dance with someone again if they had bad breath. But what’s more – it seems relying on friends to point out the issue is not the answer, with statistics from across the country showing that over a third of consumers would not tell even their best friend that they have bad breath!
But fear not, for POLO® Sugar Free has a way to help, with their brand NEW sugar free range of POLO® pots – a great way to help solve bad breath and prevent against dental erosion when you can’t brush your teeth twice a day (which POLO® strongly recommends). Pop one of these handy pots in your rucksack, keep it in your bum-bag or leave it in your tent to keep your breath minty fresh throughout festival season.
Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter, said: ‘Bad breath is a condition that can be prevented and treated easily if necessary. Sugar Free mints are an ideal way to freshen breath and help prevent against dental erosion when it is not possible to brush with a toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Unlike mints with added sugar, POLO® Sugar Free and POLO Sugar Free Extra Strong, can be enjoyed everyday without the risk of tooth decay.’

WEARABLE TECH: FACE MASK LAUNCH TO COMBAT LONDON’S GROWING POLLUTION CRISIS
TWITTER | FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM
Cambridge Mask Company launches their smart pollution mask on crowdfunding site, Kickstarter. Starting from only £18.00 GBP ($23.25), the SmartValve tech-nology creates the world’s first connected mask, helping people manage their respiratory health better.
www.kickstarter.com/projects/1302396957/smart-cambridge-mask-you-and-clean-air-connected
Air pollution kills seven million people per year according to the WHO, more than murders, suicides and car crashes combined, someone every four seconds. Over 9,000 Londoners died prematurely due to pollution in 2015, and premature deaths in the United Kingdom have reached 39,730 according to the European Environment Agency. This is from a combination of tiny PM2.5 particles, nitrogen dioxide and ozone pollution. In the UK, air pollution has become a major source of concern for many, as cities across the country frequently breach WHO and EU pollution limits. Research now shows that the average UK resident has a six month shorter lifespan due to air pollution.
Now an innovating British wearable-tech company, have come up with a solution to combat pollution-related deaths in urban residents around the world.
The Cambridge Mask Company have just launched the world’s first ‘Smart Mask’. The mask has three high-tech filters that were created by the British military for use in chemical, nuclear, and biological attacks and treated with silver to even absorb and kill viruses and bacteria, and to prevent the inhalation of other gases such as toxic nitrogen oxide, that is produced from diesel fumes.
“We are helping to solve the fundamental requirement for people to better understand what and how they breathe” says Christopher Dobbing, the Founder and CEO of Cambridge Mask Company. “Our current masks have been a massive success and we now have users in over 40 countries. With this new technology we are making our masks even better, and giving people awesome tools to care for their long-term health”. “The pollution crisis is not just a problem for third world cities”. “People in London are dying in the tens of thousands every year because of pollution – often caused by car exhausts. These deaths are preventable and the Cambridge Smart Mask ensures that cyclists, runners or simply London residents can monitor exactly what is in the air and ensure that what they are breathing is clean and safe.”
“I found wearing a mask in public a little odd at first” says Dr Tomaz Slivnik, a Cambridge resident “I travel frequently and used to get sick a lot. Now I wear the masks on the flight and have not picked up a bug since I started using it. I am really looking forward to trying out the smart mask”
The bluetooth sensor in the valve measures the wearer’s breathing patterns and tells them when they need to change the filter. The mask connects to an app on your phone that actively monitors the air quality index (also known as AQI), telling the user when the air may be hazardous and they need to put on the mask. The app has a family feature that allows the main user to register their family members’ masks too.
The masks are aimed at urban residents who are exposed to higher air pollution levels as well as cyclists, allergy sufferers and those with low immune systems or chemical sensitivities.
The Cambridge Mask Company creates a range of adjustable masks, there are 5 sizes that fit from age 2+ and come in an array of colours and designs to give customers a wide choice of styles.
The company is aiming to raise £25,000 ($32,000) to take the concept to market. The development has taken nearly two years, with prototype and patent already developed.
The campaign will run from May 30th to June 29th.

SEAing and DOOing more with Ireland 360
Ireland 360, a group made up of ex-service and civilians, will attempt to become the first ever mixed amputee and able-bodied team to circumnavigate Ireland on unmodified SEA-DOO GTI personal watercraft (PWC). The expedition, which will see the team travel 1500 kilometres, is raising awareness and funds for Help for Heroes and the RNLI, its chosen charities, while also highlighting the charities’ work within local communities in both the UK and Ireland.
The team will set off from RMS Titanic in Belfast on 5 August 2017 and, weather permitting, aim to complete the journey in two weeks. The overall objective of the expedition, apart from raising money for the charities, is to demonstrate that no matter what physical or mental obstacles are put in front of people, anything is possible.
The team is made up of Rory Mackenzie, an army veteran who lost his right leg during the Iraq war; Tim Maw, a director at a property development company; Neil Laughton, a former UK Special Forces officer turned entrepreneur, and Mark Shoosmith, the managing director at a specialist vehicle garage.
Mike Loach, BRP commercial manager UK and Ireland says, “We are delighted to be supporting the Around Ireland team with SEA-DOO GTI PWCs for this record attempt and we cannot wait for them to channel their inner Phileas Fogg on 5 August 2017 when their adventure around Ireland begins. Having seen Neil and the team throughout their training* for this expedition, we know how hard they are working to ensure they achieve this record and, importantly, raise awareness for all the amazing work Help for Heroes and RNLI do.”
Neil Laughton, Ireland 360 team leader adds, “It’s a privilege to be a part of a challenge for causes that are so dear to my heart. As an ex-serviceman myself, I know the hardships that come after finishing a tour of duty and it’s amazing to see charities like Help for Heroes that are committed to helping our men and women, who have for fought for our country, readjust to civilian life. It’s been an inspiration working alongside Rory and the rest of the boys, and having such a mixed group has definitely taught me a thing or two. But for now, I just can’t wait to get on the water!”

BAFFLED BRITS OVERWHELMED BY MASS OF DIETARY ADVICE
Conflicting guidance from multiple sources and time constraints lead to less healthy lifestyles with a side-helping of guilt
Nearly two thirds of Brits (65%)* admit they are baffled by conflicting dietary advice (from food fads to diet crazes), according to new research from the Potatoes: More Than A Bit On The Side campaign. This comes as government reports show adults are lagging well behind some recommended healthy eating guidelines, with less than one third (29%) of adults** consuming the recommended ‘5 A DAY’.
Time pressure appears to be another reason why people aren’t creating daily dishes to maximise nutritional value, with seven in ten (70%)* citing time constraints as a factor. Just one in five (20%)* people take the time to prepare a well-balanced meal every night of the week, even though over a third (36%)* are aware their diets are lacking in much needed nutrients and vitamins. This is despite the fact that more than two fifths (43%)* highlight that eating healthily makes them feel more energised.
Emotional wellbeing is another key factor consumers deem to be closely associated with a healthy eating, with many admitting they are ashamed of their unhealthy habits. Nearly a quarter (23%)* of Brits say they often feel guilty about the lack of healthy food they eat, and more than two in five (40%)* say they often feel guilty about lack of exercise. Women in particular feel the pressures of this, with more than a quarter (26%)* feeling guilty about their diets, and nearly half (46%)* about a lack of exercise.
The research found that, despite accepting their eating habits could do with a nutritional boost, taste is the most important factor for an evening meal (40%)*, with health (20%)* second. Ultimately, it appears people are looking for a meal that can do all of this, with over three quarters (76%)* saying they would welcome a quick, simple, healthy dish that covers all bases. With this in mind, the Potatoes: More Than A Bit On The Side campaign has created the ‘Bowl in One’ – Grilled Salmon and Potato Rainbow Salad, in collaboration with leading dietitian Sian Porter, as a guide to show how a dish like this can be achieved. It is a quick-to-prepare, delicious, simple meal, packed with vitamins and nutrients (including more than three portions of your five a day) which will satisfy the whole family, and is ready in just 20 minutes from fridge to table.
Sian Porter comments on the science behind the dish: “With so many ‘superfood’ fads, ‘miracle’ diet, ‘Insta’ experts and ‘quick fix’ solutions around at the moment, it’s no surprise that people feel confused about what to eat. Team this with busy and demanding lifestyles, and sustaining a healthy daily routine to many can seem like an impossible task.
“I’m a big believer in the ‘food first’ approach when it comes to getting your daily dose of vitamins and minerals – not only is this nature’s way, it also actually keeps things really simple. Aiming to eat appropriate amounts of a variety of foods from the main food groups ensures you include a whole range of the nutrients your body needs. And it doesn’t have to come as a compromise with respect to time or taste. The ‘Bowl in One’ dish ticks plenty of nutrition boxes, covers all of the main food groups, takes just minutes to prepare, as well as being delicious!”
At just over 600kcal, ‘Bowl in One’ is a delicious combination of salmon spiced with turmeric, fresh potatoes for a fibre and potassium boost, and a generous helping of a mix of vegetables to provide three and a half portions of the recommended ‘5 A DAY’ – all at just 30% of the recommended daily calorie intake**. Incorporating ingredients from all food groups, the dish provides nutrients important for eye, heart and digestive health, as well as being low in salt, sugar and saturated fat.

BLOOM Gin celebrates British Summer with Limited Edition Strawberry Cup Gin.
BLOOM Strawberry Cup is a limited edition, rich and luxurious ruby red spirit drink launching this June in Asda, Booths and online with 31Dover.com. BLOOM Strawberry Cup is a delicious infusion of rich jammy strawberry flavourings and BLOOM London Dry Gin, produced in exceptionally small batches and created by Joanne Moore, one of the first female master distillers in the world.
Inspired by BLOOM Gin’s signature serve of a G&T with quartered strawberries, Joanne has combined fresh strawberries with the floral gin, giving a strawberry coloured liquor which can be drunk with lemonade, ginger ale or as an ingredient in cocktails. The signature serve of BLOOM Strawberry Cup and lemonade, mixed as a long drink, lends itself to pitcher serves, as an alternative to other fruit cups on the market. The perfect drink for you and your friends to enjoy whilst watching great British sporting events over the summer months such as tennis at Wimbledon, cricket at Lords or Golf at The British Open!
Master Distiller, Joanne Moore comments: “BLOOM, Strawberry Cup is rich clear red colour, with a strawberry aroma up front on the nose. On the palette, a slight zingy taste from macerated strawberries which opens up on the mouth feel to allow the softness of BLOOM London Dry Gin to come through.”

LEEDS NAMED UK’S NEW CAPITAL (OF CLUMSINESS)
iSmash reveals Leeds, Nottingham and Bristol are the UK’s three ‘clumsiest’ cities – with the highest rate of mobile phone repairs
London, Swansea and Wakefield report least handset accidents
Being accident-prone owes just as much to where you live as poor co-ordination or simply having “butter fingers”.
The biggest ever study of mobile phone breakages across the UK highlights massive regional and city-by-city variation in the numbers of shattered screens, scuffed handsets and mangled charging ports. Data collated from 160,000 online searches by mobile phone repair specialist iSmash has revealed the extent to which clumsiness and geography are intertwined.
The North is officially the most dangerous region to own a phone, with the city of Leeds identified as Britain’s undisputed number-one Clumsytown (is there something in the Yorkshire puddings?). Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool are all ranked within top 10, while Nottingham and Bristol were second and third overall – accounting for a disproportionate share of the £3.1bn spent on gadget repairs in the UK since 2012.
The study has brought together Wakefield and Swansea as homes for careful phone owners. And perhaps surprisingly, given the fast and frenetic pace of life in the capital, London also finds itself low on the list, ranking 23rd out of 25.
Julian Shovlin, founder of iSmash says; “Breaking a phone is not just frustrating and inconvenient but can also prove very costly. I’d like to humbly suggest that those in our top clumsy cities invest in a good phone case!”
However, for those who do suffer a ‘phone pas’ (and let’s face it, this can happen to the best of us, regardless of geography), iSmash is offering £10 off repairs throughout June. Just apply the code PHONEPAS at https://www.ismash.com/blogs/news-reviews/new-capital-of-smartphone-clumsiness-crowned

What is ACE? Tell us a little about the organization, its mission, and history.
The Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates consumers on the proper use, storage and disposal of household and institutional products. ACE works within an educational environment to develop new curriculum, awareness campaigns, and training materials for consumers of all ages, parents, teachers, and students across the country.
ACE focuses on three major awareness campaigns and programs: Health and Well-being, Inhalant Abuse Prevention, and Product Stewardship. These programs aim to improve health through education and outreach, address the epidemic of inhalant abuse, and educate and promote the responsible use of products respectively.
What types of products are safest and most effective to use when completing outdoor chores? What should consumers look for in these types of products? (Including gardens, roofs, guttering, paths, driveways, and communications equipment such as aerials and security devices and alarms).
Answer:
It’s imperative that consumers understand the importance of properly using, storing, and disposing of products in their household and institution, and this of course, includes products that are used for the cleaning and upkeep of outdoor surfaces. Products help keep your household (both inside and outside) safe, healthy, and clean. When using tools, electricity, and chemical products to complete outdoor chores (such as gutter cleaning, roofing, electrical wiring, and gardening) there can be certain risks, especially for consumers who have small children and teens around their home or business during the summer months. Reading the label for proper use instructions and cleaning up appropriately after use are critical steps in preventing accidental poisonings that can be caused by leftover residue or ingestion of chemical products. Also make sure to use any household or institutional products in well ventilated areas.
In order for consumers to stay safe when completing these chores, they should keep these tips in mind:
1. After handling any chemical product for outdoor chores, handwashing is essential
2. After chore completion, ensure that bottles, jars, sprays, and gels containing chemicals are properly stowed away and out of reach for small children or teens.
3. Read label directions for proper storage and disposal instructions.
4. Keep products in their original containers, with the label so products can be easily identified and label directions can be read.
5. Talk with children about what is safe to taste and what is not safe to taste. Colored liquids may look like juice, so teach your children to ask an adult before they try something.
6. Never leave any active or non-active electrical wires visible. They not only could electrocute an unsuspecting passerby, but could get tangled around other wires, start fires, or become tangled in trees, bushes, and other shrubbery.
What are the dangers of completing outdoor chores, especially during the hot summer months?
Answer:
There is an obvious risk of heat stroke and overexposure to the sun, especially in locations with direct access to sunlight (gardens, fields, and rooftops). Wear light-colored, breathable clothing that is comfortably loose but not baggy enough to get caught on ladders, poles, netting, or wires.
Unstable or outdated tools can also pose certain dangers, so consumers should ensure that ladders, step stools, lawn mowers, rakes, and ropes are in good and workable conditions to support the nature of the work at hand.
How should homeowners store products used for outdoor chores?
Answer:
It is important for home and business owners to read the labels of the products they use to complete outdoor chores before using or storing them, especially in areas with high volumes of children and teens that may be subject to accidental or intentional product misuse and abuse.
There are more than a 1,400 products that are potentially dangerous when inhaled (many of them used for outdoor purposes), such as air conditioning coolant, gasoline, propane, spray paint, air freshener, butane, cooking spray, and paint). Most are common products that can be found in the home, garage, office, school, or as close as the local convenience store. In addition to accidental poisoning, each day, 566 people intentionally and improperly use an inhalant (liquid, aerosols, and gases) for the first time. Storing these product out of the reach of children, and discussing the dangers of intentional abuse with teenagers is important.
During the hot summer months, how should individuals who are completing outside chores dress in order to deal with the heat? Are there any articles of clothing you recommend they wear or have on hand to protect them from the elements?
Answer:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. The summer months mean an increased risk of dehydration, loss of energy and fatigue. These risks may sound easily treatable, but they are also dangerous if an individual is working with electrical equipment, roofing, or with heavy or sharp tools.
Consumers should wear light-colored, breathable clothing that is comfortably loose but not baggy enough to get caught on ladders, poles, netting or other surfaces. Closed-toed and sturdy shoes are best for climbing ladders, gardening, mowing grass, and working around electrical wires and lighting. If possible, wear gloves when appropriate especially when handling sharp objects, toxic chemicals, and environmental matter (when digging deep holes, mowing the yard, or cleaning gutters). Gloves and/or long sleeves and pants will protect from outdoor elements such as insects, snakes, poison ivy, and sharp twigs and branches that often fill gutters and gardens.
INTRODUCING BEN MASON, FOUNDER OF GLOW IN THE PARK & LEADING SPORTING EVENTS ENTREPRENEUR
Ben Mason founded Votwo Ltd and Votwo Action and Adventure Ltd in 2004. Votwo is named after ‘VO2 Max’, the gold standard measurement of an athlete’s cardiovascular fitness. After eight years in the Royal Marines, Ben decided to use his personal love of adventure and athletic sports to inspire others to challenge themselves, whether individually or in teams. He realised that sporting and fitness events were the best match for his own experiences and personal motivations.
Votwo runs sporting events throughout the year, including Triathlons, Duathlons, Trail Running Challenges, Running Races, Open Water Swims, Adventure Runs and Aquathlons. Votwo also operates the Porsche Human Performance Centre at Silverstone – a specialist sports science lab dedicated to improving the performance of motor racing drivers and endurance athletes.
However, Ben spotted a gap in the sporting events market, which would appeal to a more mainstream demographic, specifically women in the 30 – 50+ age bracket. When he got involved in timing a friend’s night time 10km race, he was interested in the impact that the course LED
lighting had on the ambience, even though that was very much a ‘hard core’ event. It got him thinking and he asked around friends, family and key contacts to bring his Glow idea to life.
Ben explains his thinking: “I believe in empowering people through physical activity to achieve their best personal results. Many women I know are interested in keeping fit and in shape, but it’s not always easy, especially when juggling family, work and busy lives generally. Glow in the Park is all about getting people to enjoy themselves – while managing to achieve a 5km.
“I picked the 5km distance because in my experience, it seems within reach compared to a 10km, a half marathon or a full marathon, especially for people who don’t run and train intensively, but who want to join in. The growth in Glow numbers bear that out, as does the feedback we’re getting from all kinds of individuals, each with their own reasons for having a go.
“Most participants are women, although they’ll sometimes drag along their other halves and kids to get ‘glowed up’ and look silly with them! The thing that all participants have in common is that they want to have fun and achieve something. I am delighted that they are getting that from Glow in the Park and look forward to expanding the event programme, both in terms of getting to more venues across the UK and also internationally.
“We are already working with a number of commercial partners, but obviously, the more who get involved, the better each event will become over time.”
When he’s not running Glow in the Park and other Votwo events, Ben can usually be found on his surf ski, near his seaside home in Cornwall.

Almost half of football fans would avoid scheduling their wedding day on match day
Power management company, Eaton, reveals the lengths fans will go to in order to watch their team, with 39% of Brits admitting they would only miss a match on TV if a power cut forced them to
London, UK, 10 August 2017 – Almost half (41%) of British football fans wouldn’t schedule their wedding day on a match day, reveals power management company Eaton, and a third (35%) would prioritise catching the game over going on holiday.
The results from the survey of 2,000 football fans – commissioned by Eaton to celebrate its partnership with Manchester City Football Club – demonstrates the loyalty fans feel to their football team and how much of a priority keeping up-to-date with it is to their lives.
In fact, over a third (39%) admit the only reason they would miss a football match on TV would be due to a power cut giving them no choice in the matter. The unfortunate reality is that sometimes these loyal fans don’t get a choice – one in 10 fans reported that a power cut, affecting their home and surrounding area, has led to them missing a match. Eaton has developed xStorage Home, which is available for pre-order now, to provide homes with electrical energy in the event of power cuts – powering lights and even a TV and broadband router to retain power if needed.
Pedro de la Horra Calomarde, Segment Manager Residential Buildings EMEA, from Eaton responded to the research:
“It’s surprising to learn how many fans have missed a game due to power cuts. We partnered with Manchester City to share best practice on how the use of power management solutions highlight the benefits of improved quality of life and to the environment. By developing battery storage solutions, such as xStorage Home, we’re making sure people have a reliable power supply and that there’s back-up in place to avoid outage and mean no one ever misses a match due to power cuts.”
Almost a third (30%) of the fans surveyed said they would pay £100 or more to avoid missing a match. Millennials proved to be the most eager to cough up the cash to overcome any issues preventing them from tuning in, with 80% saying they would pay to ensure they could watch their team play.
One fan who has gone above and beyond to catch every game is City fan, Sean Riley. Sean, 51 years old from Manchester, has missed just one City match in 28 years, including away games. Sean said: “I started going to matches with my dad in 1974 and have been an ardent City supporter ever since,” says Sean. “For the past 28 years, I have been very fortunate and privileged to attend every competitive game played by the club, at home, away, and in Europe. The single exception was the CSKA game in Moscow in 2014 which was officially played behind closed doors so no one could attend”. He continues: “My wife is also a committed fan of the Club, so naturally, we got married outside of the football season, to ensure our big day didn’t clash with any of the fixtures!”
Most fans (72%) put their devotion down to a love for their team and wanting to be with them every step of the way. A quarter (24%) said it’s because they want to be a part of the post-match analysis and 18% admitted they like to know the results because they have a Fantasy Football team.
Martha Newson, cognitive anthropologist at University of Oxford, commented:
“Typically, our families are the people we experience life’s highs and lows with – and are the people we are most likely to sacrifice ourselves for. In some ways, football clubs and other such groups evoke, and even manage to exaggerate, our evolved tendency for this kin psychology so that we treat other group members like our closest kin. For some football fans, the ritual of the game becomes more important than our most cherished family rituals, like birthday parties and weddings.”
In May 2017, Eaton became Manchester City’s new Official Home Energy Storage Partner in the UK. Eaton signed a multi-year deal with the Club who are committed to lead the way in sustainability.
Eaton, who have more than 100 years of experience in the industry, will share best practice in energy storage to help enhance the Club’s efforts across all its daily operations at the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy.

With summer creeping closer every single day it’s important that we take care of our skin. This summer is supposed to be particularly hot and you can guarantee that someone you know is going to get burnt!
Most of us don’t realize quite how important taking care of our skin is. We take it as fact that we will age and our skin will get worse, however, the effects of aging are hugely impacted by the sun damage that we experience.
By minimizing the damage that the sun causes we can reduce the rate at which our skin ages.
There are a few things you need to remember to do:
Wear some sunscreen every day
We often make the mistake of thinking that we don’t need to apply sunscreen if it’s not sunny or if we aren’t staying out for too long. The damage from the sun is actually caused by UV rays which penetrate through the clouds. This means that even if it’s not sunny or warm outside you’re still getting skin damage.
Choosing an SPF 30 or greater is most appropriate, less than that is really not particularly useful to most of us. Similarly, make sure to re-apply through the day.
Stay hydrated
Water is needed in our body to flush out the toxins that are created. When you’re not drinking enough water these toxins aren’t removed and this causes our kidneys to work less efficiently, which goes on to have an impact on our skin.
Every day you should be drinking at least eight, eight-ounce glasses of water. However, if you’re spending time in the sun or exercising you should increase this to account for the water lost through sweating.
Moisturize
Most girls moisturize, but it’s the guys who are at risk. By not moisturizing you’re letting your skin dry out. The hot weather will dry your skin out, which can cause it to crack, increasing the chance of infection or illness.
Protect your scalp
If you’re anything like me, your scalp burns easier than anywhere else. It might seem weird but you need to apply sunscreen to your scalp too. Your hair only provides a limited amount of protection agains the sun, so, you should either use sunscreen or wear a hat.
Blissful BabyBjorn Airology for Summer babies.
Perfect for cool bouncing and sweet sleeping, home or away, the BabyBjörn Bouncer Bliss and Travel Cot Light make parents’ lives a breeze this summer. The beloved Bouncer and Travel Cot Light from Swedish family company, BABYBJÖRN is available in a patented air mesh fabric. The classic bouncer shape dates back 1961, a testament to thousands of bouncing babies, the removable cover washes easily and dries super-quickly. The Travel Cot Light’s cool mesh sides, allow airflow, and a view, to your sleeping baby as well as being light, portable and instantly assembled.
“When we started our search for airy materials, we couldn’t find any that were soft enough for babies. Existing mesh fabrics were mainly used for protective and sports clothing. So we developed our own mesh fabric with the characteristics best suited to babies. The result is one of our most sophisticated materials – a soft, breathable 3D mesh. It consists of three layers that have been knitted in one single process: an outer and an under layer in thin mesh, with an intermediate layer of fine, single-strand fibre. It’s this single-strand fibre in the intermediate layer that makes the mesh soft and elastic like a mini mattress, while the knitting technique helps to keep it airy.”, Lisen Elmberg, Senior Textile Designer
The Bouncer Bliss is available in a soft mesh in 3 fresh, modern colours: powder pink, cocoa and anthracite. The gentle rocking creates a sense of bliss and calm, not just at the beginning of a baby´s life, but later as well. Proper support for a young child’s back, neck and head, is essential and the Bouncer Bliss is for use from 0-24 months. RRP: £144.99

The Southend Triathlon Was A Huge Success
On Sunday the 28th of May 2017 Sundried hosted their first ever triathlon on the sunny shores of Southend on Sea. With a refreshing swim in the Thames Estuary, a scenic cycle through the country lanes of Great Wakering, and a fast, flat run along the promenade, it promised to be a great race.
With nearly 300 competitors taking part and thousands of spectators cheering them on, it was a huge spectacle on the seafront with an athlete village playing music to keep the atmosphere buzzing and partners Tri ‘N’ Swim Well providing wetsuit hire. There were nearly 100 first time triathletes as triathlon came to their hometown for the first time since the 1980s and a very special memorial trophy was donated by the wife of Freddy Spring who was a prolific local athlete who sadly passed away after a battle with cancer in 2013.
There were a number of high profile athletes who took part, with the first female finisher being Ironman Champion and professional triathlete Alice Hector and second female finisher Team GB Duathlete Louise Douglass. The winner was Harrison Smith of East Essex Triathlon Club who came in at an incredible time of 0:56:30. Harrison is definitely one to watch!
Sundried were also extremely proud to award a donation of over £4500 to charity Havens Hospices. This money was raised with thanks to individuals doing fundraising efforts, the donations from the Tri ‘N’ Swim Well wetsuit hire, and Sundried donating the entry fees from competitors.
Sundried were ecstatic with how well the event turned out as an inaugural effort, and are very much looking forward to bringing it back even bigger and even better next year with an updated and revised race course and a larger competitor entry of 600 athletes.
REVEALED: THE UK’S HEALTHIEST PROFESSION
-24% of UK workers are active for less than an hour per day-
-Tradespeople are active for 7 hours and burn 2,500 calories, on average-
TRADESPEOPLE are the healthiest workers in the UK, according to new research.
The survey of 2,014 UK adults by IronmongeryDirect revealed that those working in the trades such as, plumbing, construction, and electrical installation are the healthiest workers in the UK.
Due to the nature of their job, a tradesperson is active for up to 7 hours per day, burning up to 2,500 calories – more than any other type of worker.
Health and fitness professionals such as personal trainers are the second healthiest workers in the UK, and are physically mobile for 5 hours per day.
Unsurprisingly those working in offices are the most sedentary, with marketing, information and communications, and call centre workers all failing to be active for an hour per day, burning less than 300 calories through work related activity.
However, almost one in five (19%) UK workers ‘top up’ their activity levels with a weekly gym session.
More than half (51%) blame work pressures for their lack of activity, stating stress and busy schedules.
Office-based workers were also more likely to succumb to sugary treats, with 23% admitting to a daily indulgence, as sweets and biscuits are passed around.
Wayne Lysaght-Mason, managing director of IronmongeryDirect said: “Incorporating elements of a healthy lifestyle into your working day is essential. A balanced diet, regular breaks from your desk, tools or computer screen, fresh air, and moderate exercise are important.
“Those with active jobs should ensure they are getting the correct levels of calories to avoid running out of fuel during busy days, while those with lower activity levels should also be conscious of what they eat.”

Nika the Football-mad Polar Bear Predicts 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Results
Inspired by Russia’s win in the first match of the Confederations Cup, and picking-up the reigns from 2010 FIFA World Cup sensation, dearly-departed animal-clairvoyant Paul the Octopus, football-mad orphaned Polar Bear, Nika, is throwing her weight, and claws, behind her predictions for 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup match victors.
Whilst preparing for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, that kicks-off this weekend, Welcome2018 (The official tourist platform for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup) received a call from the rescue centre and nursery of Moscow Zoo in a small village 100km outside of Moscow. Moscow Zoo was keen to share that they had a rescued polar bear, called Nika, with an uncanny ability to know what was going to happen in the future… AND since being found as an orphan, she had developed an immense love for playing football.
Whether it is predicting a change in the weather, or the day the vet will visit, a bear with an uncanny ability predict what’s going to happen, and who likes nothing more than having a kick-around with a football? It’s a match made in heaven!
Welcome2018 went to meet Nika, who in-between playing with her favourite football, took some time out to demonstrate her prediction skills for some up-coming matches in the first round of the tournament with a game of ‘guess the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup match victors.’
A spokesperson for the centre revealed how Nika came to join them as a rescue bear: “Last summer, we learned of a young bear wondering alone in the village of Ryrkaipiy (Chukotka), located on the migration route of polar bears. Employees of the WWF Russia Bear Patrol, the Russian military and Moscow Zoo set-about rescuing the 8-9 month old bear who would be unable to survive in the wild. Through the efforts of all involved she is now a health and beautiful animal. We are so happy to have Nika here, and hope for her to play a valuable role in our reproduction and conservation programme for polar bears.”
Nika’s keeper, Alexander Igorov, added: “we realized that Nika has some special talents. She senses in advance if people will come to visit. She has the gift of seeing the future and hides or shows interest when she wants something. She plays really well with footballs and swims with them in the pool. She loves them; so much that she sometimes uses them as her pillow when she sleeps.”
We are sure that you can’t wait to know what Nika’s predictions for a selection of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup first round matches are, so here are her the latest picks. When Nika starts to eat from the bowl of her match-winning favourite, she has made her prediction. She’ll be keeping everyone updated with regular videos for a selection of matches throughout the tournament.

If you would like to help bears and animals like Nika, Moscow Zoo have set up a programme to adopt and animal called Guardianship. Further details on this can be found at http://moscowzoo.su/ where you can help support efforts to care for animals in need.
Svetlana Vladimirovna Akulova, Director of the Moscow Zoo, notes: “Since its inception, the Moscow Zoo has as its main goal the preservation of the biodiversity of our planet. Pollution and habitat loss, poaching and the effects of climate change increase the pressure on nature. At the current rate of development of civilization, by the year 2050, about 10,000 species can disappear from the face of the earth. The Moscow Zoo together with other zoos of the world is doing everything possible to preserve these species. Guardianship is an excellent opportunity to participate in the conservation of rare species, to help us in the implementation of environmental programmes.”

Sleeping cool this summer
nuvanna.com
Sleep temperature can have a significant impact on health and wellbeing and is one of the top three sleep disruptors. According to Alvaro Vaselli, founder and CEO of Nuvanna online mattress company with 20+years of experience learning about what impacts quality sleep, setting the room temperature between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit enables the ideal night of sleep. In the summer, air conditioning is obviously a critical component to achieving this environment.
Also having the right mattress makes a big difference. See below for specific elements of the Nuvanna mattress that optimize cool sleeping:
Foam Layer #1: Ascension Layer. The Nuvanna Ascension layer is powered by a leading-edge, intelligent temperature management adaptive foam. This material actively draws body heat into the mattress, where phase-change gel particles work in tandem with high-density, high-performance foam to disperse heat away from the body. The result? The consumer stays at the ideal sleeping temperature throughout the night.
Mattress Cover: The mattress core is wrapped in a moisture-wicking, breathable cover made with TENCEL®, an ultra-premium fiber with superior performance. Botanically derived and eco-friendly, the revolutionary fibers of TENCEL® outperform cotton and poly fabrics by absorbing moisture completely and releasing it away from the body. This means the mattress maintains a hygienic environment that naturally inhibits the growth of bacteria. Without chemical additives, TENCEL® fibers are more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen.

Since the creation of the Original Sock, Heat Holders has been adapting and introducing new and innovative products to meet customer demand. Race Days for Summer Kids go Free!
If you’re stuck for something to do with the family this summer, why not think about taking the kids to check out your nearest racecourse? It’s a little-known fact that almost every racecourse in Britain offers free entry to under 18s to almost every single raceday throughout the year, making it a truly affordable day out for the whole family.
This summer alone (1 July to 5 September 2017), there are a total of 310 racedays taking place up and down the country, with 58 of these specifically aimed at families and including a host of special activities laid on to entertain the kids.
Check out Ascot Racecourse on 28 July for their special Family Fun Day, which will see a visit from a host of children’s TV favourites including Peppa Pig and George, the Simpsons and Thomas the Tank Engine, alongside all the racing action. Or visit Newton Abbot for their family special on 23 July, with a range of free activity laid on for children and free entry to all under 16s.
Newmarket Racecourse hosts an exciting sports day on 1 July, with a range of free sporty activity on offer, from football with Cambridge United to cycling – not to mention the Horseracing too, and Musselburgh Racecourse offers more exciting activity for families on 25 July, just six miles outside of Edinburgh city centre.
Most of the racecourses allow families to bring a picnic, or there are some great deals to be found for on-course food and drink, so a day at the races can offer better value for money than many other family days out – a family of four could enjoy a full day out for as little as £20!
