Inishowen mini rugby section hosted a blitz for their friends from Finn Valley RFC and Tir Chonaill RFC at the community school in Carn. It was the player’s first opportunity to show off their new rigs, very kindly sponsored by Inishowen Oil Company and a big thank you to Connor, Mark and all for their continual support of their community. With under 8’s, 10’s and 12’s all enjoying matches, it was a pleasure to see the support from parents of all clubs whose encouragement helped to make the occasion such a positive one for the players. There were some very fine displays of rugby on offer, and evidence that the long winter of training and matches has helped in transforming the abilities and enjoyment of all the participants.
Rugby is such a social sport, and this was evident with the hospitality that the club were able to offer their visitors, many thanks to all who helped to supply and serve the fantastic offering that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The visitors headed home with a good mornings sport and the warm Inishowen hospitality to keep them happy on the road.
Thank you to all who helped make the day a success, both visiting clubs, Carndonagh Community school and staff, the coaches, helpers and parents who’s input helps to keep the wheels rolling!
Training will continue each Wednesday at the Community School 7.30 – 8.30 until the end of the month, new players are still more than welcome to come along during this time to give it a go!
