The SSI rugby leagues start this Wednesday 14th Oct with Ulster Universities and Colleges competing in two of the three leagues this season.

Newly Promoted UUJ 1st XV are the only Ulster side in Div 2 All Ireland League and will be traveling to Dublin to play also newly promoted Dublin I.T.. These two side met last season in the semi final of the All Ireland Cup where DIT came out close winners.

UUJ have a good squad to select from although new lecture time tabling has had a bit of impact on some training sessions.

DIT will be comfortable at their home ground of Monkstown RFC and also have a few new players. This match should prove to be an exciting game.

Ulster League

There are four games next Wednesday in the Provincial League

Letterkenny v UUJ 2s
This fixture is now a home game for UUJ as Letterkenny have pitch problems. UUJ should be the stronger of the two sides although Letterkenny have plenty of skilled players to bring down to the Jordanstown Campus.

Belfast Met v Queens
This will be a very hard fought match. Belfast Met have built over the off season with their Academy but Queens have quality players to call on.

UUC have a bye next week
