Strata Ireland has announced an official brand partnership with the Sperrin Spartans Handball Club. It sees Strata Ireland coming on board as the official principal sponsor for the newly formed club.
Sperrin Spartans previously known as Mid Ulster Olympic Handball was formed earlier this year by local men, Niall O’Neill and Patrick Cullen with the advice and support of Belfast Handball Club and it’s governing body the IOHA. Olympic Handball is one if the most popular team sports in the world but is still relatively unknown on the Island of Ireland. Already the team has been successful in its matches against Belfast and Coleraine, and plans for its first ever season competing within the IOHA league.
Liam Eastwood, Managing Director, Strata Ireland said, “We’re delighted to have such a unique opportunity to create a brand new partnership in a new and exciting sporting field. We have been operating successfully in the Mid-Ulster area for over 30 years. As a family business in Cookstown, we have always been proactive in supporting our local community. Our sponsorship of the Mid Ulster Handball allows us to support local community sports at a grass roots level, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership in the next 12 months.”
Niall O’Neill, Chairman of Sperrin Spartans Handball Club, welcomed the support, saying “We are proud to welcome Strata Ireland as our main sponsor. As well as still being a leading supplier of fuel in Northern Ireland, Strata Ireland is now a leading supplier of innovative products to the gardening and landscaping industry, and it makes sense that they are supporting an innovative new sport which is increasing in popularity throughout Ireland, North and South. We look forward to working with them over the next year, adding value to their business.”
Sperrin Spartans Handball Club welcomes new members, male and female over 15 years old and at all levels of fitness. The club is currently training on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 8-9pm at Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt.
