Back to business this weekend and 2 good results.
With over a full team missing, due to injuries, stags, work and dirty weekends, the captains did and excellent job to get 2 full teams out. The 1s travelled to lurgan and were unlucky to only get a 17 all draw. Tries from soupy and Jeff and 2 conversions and a peno from Jeff as well were almost enough for victory. Leading by 3 going into the final minute, Strabane were harshly penalised for truck and trailer. Lurgan kicked the penalty to split the points, but Strabane will be positive after this game, having so many new personnel stand in well and having not played for 7 weeks. The 2s made the pilgrimage to Tir Chonail with a cobbled together side, but still had enough to beat a resilient home side 3-15. Strabane played with a strong wind in the first half and tries from stu gamble and mowbs and a conversion and peno from max were enough to maintain our 100% record. Comebacks from bert, Winston, podge and stewarty Thompson were much appreciated and Strabane showed their fighting spirit in the second half by playing into the teeth of the gale and keeping the home side scoreless. With only home games left, the 2s are homing in on a premier league victory, but a few tricky visitors are still ahead
