When all is said and done, the passion and pride that we have flows from the people of this province and it is never to late to build an ULSTER RUGBY team.
We have been carried along this past 5 years by a good winning experience. But it is now played out and the exit of David Humphreys means it is way past the writing on the wall stage. But the direction of the next 5 years is what is at stake!
I firmly believed that the Ulster rugby players who have left the province in this past few weeks would go on to play for Ulster Rugby and Ireland Rugby.
It is becoming increasingly embarrassing that we are not building an ULSTER RUGBY team. We have to face up to this!
If we genuinely begin to build an Ulster Rugby team…. if we do this we will build a team that everyone can be proud of.
We are willing as are a lot of people to get behind this goal. WITH the help of the foreign players.
Lets not end up rejecting these lads who are good lads that have come here to play and do well.
We must work together to solve this and to be open and honest about this and to address it.
Otherwise it will take another generation B4 anything as meaningful as the last 5 years will happen.
Lets not throw the good parts of the last 5 years out but lets change what was wrong about it. TOGETHER!
People can achieve great things when they work together, just look at Leinster and what they have achieved and fair play to them, and in fact just look at what we have achieved and David Humphreys. And how much better would it be for everyone if we actually built over the next few years an ULSTER RUGBY TEAM feeding into an IRISH Rugby Team.
When we decide on a course of action that unites the province both Ulster players and foreign players, that is when you build a rugby province.
Its about building our provinces rugby together.
