Ulster Branch Club Community Rugby Officer Phil Marshall ran a inter schools blitz at Omagh Leisure Centre recently. The event finished off a six week coaching block in Sacred Heart College, Omagh High, Drumragh Int College and Omagh CBS. With 75 boys attending, the blitz gave 12 and 13 yr olds the opportunity to play rugby for the first time against other schools in a 12 a side format. Omagh RFC U13s coach Glen McDowell and he took the time to chat to potential new recruits for the youth sides at Omagh rugby club. This season Phil has been part employed by Omagh Rugby Club and the IRFU Ulster Branch to provide opportunities for new pupils to play a game of rugby for the first time and ultimately join the local club.
