Samsung and Sky bolster their rugby partnerships with sponsorship deal

Two of England Rugby’s partners come together with Twitter Amplify

Sky is partnering with Samsung as sponsors of Sky Sports’ England QBE International updates on Twitter, providing near-live video clips of match action.

7th November 2014, London UK. The digital content-led campaign will be live during Sky Sports’ coverage of England’s four QBE Internationals from Saturday 8 November. Tweets from @SkySportsRugby promoting Sky Sports’ live match coverage will contain near-live video clips of the match presented by @SamsungMobileUK and the new Galaxy Note 4, which will also be available alongside other content on a bespoke Samsung rugby hub on skysports.com

Twitter Amplify will extend the reach of the campaign by promoting the tweets to new audiences while @SkySports will Retweet to its 2.6m+ followers.

Samsung’s sponsorship of the @SkySportsRugby QBE International Twitter updates was brokered by Sky Media, in conjunction with Twitter. Sky and Samsung are also partners of England Rugby and The RFU.

The RFU and Sky Sports recently extended their partnership into its third decade with a further five year broadcast contract and the introduction of Sky Sports as a top level RFU partner. The RFU’s new three-year partnership with leading electronics provider Samsung as the Official Consumer Electronics & Smartphone Partner and Official Home Technology Partner to the RFU and England Rugby Team was announced in October.
