Hot on the heels of the launch of the major global competition Make it 2 Bushmills, BUSHMILLS® Irish Whiskey has launched a second campaign, Bushmills Brothers, with an 18 square foot piece of street art on Great Victoria Street in Belfast, depicting good friends; current Ireland International rugby player Rory Best and former Ireland international Keith Wood.
Make it 2 Bushmills challenges pairs of friends from around the world to work together to win the chance to work at the Old Bushmills Distillery for a fortnight. Bushmills Brothers also draws upon the spirit of friendship and celebrates the experiences and stories that men share.
The subjects of the art installation, former Ireland captain, Keith Wood and current Ulster captain Rory Best share the experience of wearing the number 2 jersey for Ireland and a love of BUSHMILLS Irish Whiskey.
The street art, commissioned by BUSHMILLS was painted by Belfast artist Kev Largey and measures 3 metres by 6 metres. It represents the two players from two different provinces and two generations of Ireland team who share a common bond.

Commenting on the installation, Rory Best said: “When I was growing up, the sportsperson I most wanted to be was Keith Wood. I admired his passion and his leadership on the pitch. Keith has always been on hand throughout my career to offer me advice and encouragement. The work of art looks fantastic and it is great to see our friendship portrayed in such a creative way.”
Keith Wood said: “Rugby is a great game for making friends and Rory is one of the guys that I have gotten to know over the years. He is a top bloke and a brilliant player. Like rugby, BUSHMILLS brings people together across the world. I was fortunate to spend three days at the Old Bushmills Distillery last August and helped to decide who won the inaugural competition. At Bushmills I saw at first hand how friendships can be made and how stories are shared over a glass of whiskey.
“This year’s version of the competition, Make it 2 Bushmills is even bigger than 2010’s and will see two friends win the prize. The winners will get the chance to spend two weeks at the Old Bushmillls Distillery, to create their own unique blend of BUSHMILLS Irish Whiskey and the chance to share £5,000. It is a fantastic prize, I would encourage everyone to find a friend and enter!”
Jenny Kiernan, BUSHMILLS Brand Manager, Ireland said: “Make it 2 Bushmills, and the fantastic street art featuring Keith Wood and Rory Best sum up the best of BUSHMILLS, namely genuine friends hanging out together and enjoying award winning Irish whiskey1.”
