Rugby festival supports the Belfast Hospital School
CIYMS RFC Minis to raise money for the Belfast Hospital school, over their annual tournament this weekend
On 19th and 20th March the festival run by CIYMS Minis RFC will help to raise funds for The Belfast Hospital School.
MINI RUGBY KIDS “PULL THEIR SOCKS UP” FOR CHARITY!
It might be raining, it might be cold, it’ll definitely be muddy but it’s still going to be a bright day at CIYMS MINI RUGBY FESTIVAL on the weekend of 19th – 20th March 2016. Whatever the weather, the CI mini rugby players promise to bring a ray of sunshine to the pitches and beyond with their support for The Belfast Hospital School, by wearing multi-coloured stripped socks instead of their usual pale blue.
Over 1000 mini rugby players and spectators are expected to attend the two-day mini rugby festival, which will take place at the Belmont Grounds in East Belfast. Other mini rugby clubs playing in this year’s festival are Civil Service, Cooke, Holywood, Lisburn, Ballyclare, Instonians and Bangor.
The CIYMS FESTIVAL OF MINI RUGBY is in its eighth year and it has become a tradition that CIYMS take the opportunity to fundraise at the event for a different charity every year and the host players show their support on the pitch by swapping their normal blue club socks for those that reflect the charity nominated.
Commenting on the launch of the 2016 event, Convener Frazer Hood said;
“The CIYMS MINI RUGBY FESTIVAL is eagerly anticipated by all our mini rugby players as it’s always a great weekend of running rugby and fun for all the players and their families. It’s also an opportunity for the club to play a part in raising funds for such an important cause. This year we are delighted to be collecting throughout the festival for The Belfast Hospital School.

“We are delighted that CIYMS Festival of Mini Rugby has chosen to support the Belfast Hospital School and look forward to this fantastic event. The money raised will be used to purchase much needed art and craft materials, games, toys and puzzles.”
