The Valley U14s continued their successful season with another impressive performance, at the Cran, on Saturday morning against visitors Cavan.

Play ebbed and flowed for the first fifteen before the Busby Bros, Joel and Peter combined to send the former in for the opening score. It went unconverted but they were ‘up and going’. Although playing with only fourteen, ‘Haires Hero’s’, were to run out comfortable winners. The pace of the entire backline is a tremendous asset but somewhere upfront the ball has to be produced. Rice had a faultless outing, Whiteside made some tremendous runs; Allen was in the thick of the action with Cullinan, Donnelly and Bothwell always close to the play. A long range strike by Douglas after a great offload by Donnelly followed by a McElroy conversion brought the tally to 12pts on the twenty minute mark.
