The 1st XV played away to Portora Royal on Saturday morning, they expected a tough encounter. RSD started on the front foot with excellent build up play from the forwards and some excellent passing from the backs. RSD scored the first points with an Aaron Perry penalty as half time neared. Shortly after, the Dungannon forwards won another penalty but they were unlucky not to convert. Protora began to come back in the second half with some dominating pressure and eventually they scored the first try of the game as their 8 ran in with RSD having a man in the bin. RSD came back fighting and were eager to play but protora played strongly and kicked 2 more penalties to leave the score 13-3. RSD tried to come back into the game but PRS were strong in both defence and attack which prevented RSD breaking through. Match ended 13-3.

On Saturday, the 2nd XV travelled to Enniskillen to play Portora Royal School. RSD fielded a strong team and started the first half very strongly, with forwards trucking the ball up the pitch very efficiently. This led to Luke Keys being driven over the line for RSD’s first try. The forwards were putting in a big performance and they continued to pressurise the defence of Portora and this led to further tries in the first half from Michael Crozier and 2 from Matthew Stockdale. All four tries in the first half were converted well by Cameron McLean leaving the score 28-0 to RSD after a superb first half of rugby. Portora came out fighting in the second half and it was a tighter half of rugby. Further good play from the forwards and some good lines from the backs led to Jono Shrestha wriggling over the line, this was converted with a drop kick by Edward Conroy to leave the score 35-0 to RSD. Portora crossed the line in the last play of the game to leave the final score 35-5.
