Ulster Bank All-Ireland Junior Cup Final
Enniscorthy 23 – Instonians 7
Venue: Ashbourne RFC
Date and time: 2-30 pm Saturday 6 February 2016
Conditions: strong wind with wintery showers
Instonians travelled down to Ashborne RFC, just North of Dublin, to contest their first All-Ireland Junior Cup final. They were up against an experienced Enniscorthy team from Leinster, who were contesting their second final in three years.
Instonians will be disappointed with the result. A look at the final score would appear to point to a comprehensive win for Enniscorthy. But little could be further from the truth as Instonians dominated much of the possession and territory in both halves. They made a series of unforced errors in defence which ultimately cost them four tries and a penalty. Enniscorthy were clinical in taking every chance that came their way; this, combined with their superb defence, saw them through. Ultimately Instonians will look back on this game and realise that a lack of concentration and poor game management in difficult conditions, particularly in their own 22, cost them the game. Unfortunately the seeds of this defeat could be found in earlier games this season when they got away with such play against lesser opposition and in better weather conditions…… CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL REPORT & SHOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
