After what has been a hard start to their league campaign Dee 2s got a break in the form of a Crawford Cup match at home to Ballymoney 2s. Both teams had already met early in the season in the league with the Toon men coming out on top.
The match started in conditions that weren’t going to help an expansive game of rugby. Ballymoney took an early lead through a penalty success. However the home team – who are gradually getting back to the hard fighting group that they were last year started to get to grips with both the elements and the opposition and, after continued pressure, took the lead with a well worked try which was finished off by winger Andy Cash.
