Armagh Seconds in comprehensive win over Rainey.

The local seconds played Rainey seconds at the Palace grounds on Saturday past gaining another 5 league points to keep the team on top of the league. With the pitch firm and dry the spectators were treated to a fast exciting game with man of the match Robbie Faloon scoring 5 tries. After 5 minutes play he touched down at the posts benefiting from a good break by Paul Campbell backed up by David Spratt. Harry Boyd added the conversion. Faloon repeated the dose shortly after for another converted try and captain Gareth McNeice playing out of position on the wing stepped inside the last man for his first try. Boyd added the conversion to give Armagh a healthy 21-0 lead. From a Rainey drop out Campbell rose to take the ball and cleverly popped it to the charging McNeice who weaved his way over for his second on the stroke of half time. The scrums were dominant with Matthews, Sleator and Hutcheson forming a solid front row and Martin and MCGillan providing the power in the engine room.
Although the Armagh lineouts were working well, the Rainey lineouts were also productive for the visitors although they failed to trouble the home defence at any time. Faloon went over for 2 more tries one of them a gift from Josh Morton, 42-0 to Armagh. Zac Kneebone playing out of position at flanker finished of a sweeping move forcing his way over at the posts, 49-0. Faloon then retrieved a Rainey kick on the bounce in the home half and set off on a run to the line leaving several Rainey defenders in his wake. The final try came from another Campbell break and ended with Josh Morton scoring at the posts. With the referee sounding the whistle 15 minutes early, the final score was 63-0 to Armagh.
