The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) is an association of local clubs run by young people that welcomes members from all communities in the town, city and countryside.
YFCU has approx 2,500 members aged 12-25. There are currently over 50 active clubs in Northern Ireland.
After a heat in Armagh and Ballymoney the finals took place at Banbridge RFC grounds. 12 teams battled it out for honours in a senior and junior competition.
The standard was high and all the skills we see in the adult game are being expertly honed by these young players. We were especially delighted to see the girls competing just as well as the guys.
Ulster Club Rugby is sure to benifit from this tournament and we look forward to covering these players in future years as they move into the senior ranks.
Approximately 40 of the Ulster clubs had entered the now annual competition and this years tournament has been a thrill to cover.
