Carrick scrape home at Lisburn to remain unbeaten in league
Top of the table Carrick 1st XV just about scraped home, by 20 points to 17, in their away fixture with bottom club Lisburn on Saturday 21st November to maintain their unbeaten League record and stay at the top of Section 2 of the Kukri Qualifying League. Going into injury time Carrick trailed by 17 points to 13 and looked to be heading for defeat – and deservedly so it must be said – when their first real period of pressure produced the winning try by young out-half Sam Wallace. The young Lisburn side could justifiably feel hard done by because they dominated territory and possession for long periods, scored three tries, could well have had another and had a questionable penalty try awarded against them.
