Although trailing by 19-3 just after half time, Bangor produced a superb second half performance to secure a bonus point victory by 19-27.

With the 6 Nations Championship coming to a head throughout the afternoon, it was no surprise that many supporters had probably chosen to give this end-of-season fixture a miss. However, in keeping with the international games, this QL1 fixture did not disappoint those who were there, as it produced great excitement and a number of memorable individual performances.

Although well clear of the danger zone at the lower end of the league table, Cooke were looking to avenge the defeat they suffered at Upritchard Park earlier in the season and finish with a more respectable points tally. For Bangor’s part, the unexpected and unfortunate developments of the previous week where they were docked points following a protest on the grounds of allegedly breaching a complicated and technical rule, the game took on a greater significance by wanting to confirm their league placing and finish with a less bitter taste in their mouth…….
