With the Ulster League commencing at the end of the month, Rainey Old Boys have taken their preparations a stage further with the introduction of contact into the sessions which have been attracting large numbers. The strength and conditioning programme has gone very well as the new faces settle into their new environment.
Qualifying 1 side U.U.C. will be at Hatrick Park on Saturday for a contest which will allow the coaches to make switches at any time during the course of four twenty minute sessions. On August 17, a development squad will travel to Fivemiletown for the annual fixture with Clogher Valley, while Rainey’s opening league game is on August 31 at Hamilton Park where Ards,with a new coaching team in place,provide the opposition. Armagh come to Magherafelt the following week.
Only seven of Rainey’s fifteen AIL games are at home. Their first test is at Judges Road where City of Derry will be hard to beat on September 28. It is unfortunate that the sides have also been drawn to meet in the Senior Cup at Hatrick Park on September 14.
