Firstly, thank you to everyone for all your support for the Help for Heroes, Battle Back RAAM Team as they have taken part in one of the toughest challenges of their lives – the 3,051 mile cycle Race Across America.
The team completed the race tonight (local time) in just 7 days, 7 hours and 59 minutes with an average speed of over 17mph. Their aim was to do it in 8 days with an average speed of just over 15mph – they’ve smashed it!!
Despite the late hour of the finish, we received a huge welcome as we arrived into Annapolis. The cheers were deafening and everyone wanted to come and shake the riders hands and show their admiration for competing such an epic challenge. A reminder of the importance of such events to inspire, enable and support our wounded heroes who have given so much.
It was a very emotional end to an intense, sleep deprived and tough, but once in a lifetime experience for the riders and support crew alike.
Please do continue to share the photos, check out the films on youtube and send in your messages on social media, the guys have really appreciated all the support from back home, especially from Team H4H.
