The final was played at Ravenhill between Queens University Belfast RFC & Ballynahinch RFC in front of a large crowd of spectators supporting both teams. The conditions were literally perfect. Under foot the turf was in great condition and there was no major wind to speak of. It was so interesting to see how the teams went about their task with real intent from the kick off. Both teams were very very good as is to be expected and the game lived up to its billing. An epic encounter with very few mistakes such as knock ons, great counter rucking from both sides, ball spills and loose ball tidied up very well, and overall an absolute joy to watch.
Dealing with high balls was a variety of measures but when catchers went on runs from high balls they really had a go, and it was interesting to see how both sides dealt with that attacking player.
The ball handling skills were brilliant and some of the try scoring moves a combination of text book in some cases and in others sheer genius with players keeping the ball alive in almost impossible circumstances and getting the off load away.
Most if not all of the tries came from extremely well worked rugby, passing.
A seriously hard fought encounter, the physicality was the least both teams would expect off each other.
Special edition extended highlights to followwwwwwwwwwww ASAP!
