Queen’s ladies got their Ulster Development league campaign off to a great start last Sunday with a convincing 35-0 win away to Ballymoney RFC. Despite the strong winds making conditions difficult in the first half the women put on an impressive attacking performance, with Cathy Craig at Out Half leading the effort and producing the opening score. The fly-half had a great game adding another three tries to the total tally of seven and alongside Captain Grace Cole, and centre Imogen Porter organised the back line effectively.

The women also produced an excellent defensive effort, managing to hold a competitive Ballymoney side scoreless. The forwards competed well in the scrum against a much bigger side and were dominant at the ruck. All players produced excellent performances, with new players bringing energy and enthusiasm to the game and producing an entertaining game for spectators. Congratulations to the Queens ladies and thank you to all who came to support.

The team would like to thank all their coaches and also Ballymoney who were excellent hosts and made the students feel very welcome. We wish them all the best for the rest of their season!

Next week Queens play Harlequins 2nd XV away at Deramore, all are welcome to come along as the ladies seek their second victory, Kick off will be at 12 noon.
