When did rugby begin for you?

sStarted playing about 6 years old. I was being bullied and my mum brought me to the local rugby club, started with a bit of every position, at tamworth i was a winger at one point which was fun before age and weight slowed me down, played backs and forwards but my main has always been the front row

Who were the best props/teams you played against?

I always remember playing against stratford district for Coventry district and me being quite short this guy turned up like a massive tattooed monster, hitting him in the scrum was like hitting a brick wall definitely the best i played against so far. This season the best prop though would have to be my first game back after a few months out due to injury, We played Monaghan and their tight head prop was great to scrummage against.

A memorable moment?

Playing out in South Africa i played with a union and rugby league team Kempton Wolves outside Johannesburg and loved every minute of it, that was extroardinary, I visited Ellis Park to see the stadium, A fantastic time and I will never forget it.

What does it feel like to prop?

I think the front row are overlooked on their hard work, they are the cogs for the team, maybe not the quickest or technically gracefull but when it comes down to rucking and mauling we excell. Its the select few who actually enjoy playing in the front row, the unknown quantity of the team, and its one of those positions that you never know what to expect out of your opposite number you could turn up and have a big guy who does not know what he is doing then it will be a great day, if he knows what he is doing it can feel like hell but thats all part of the game, its fair to say we feel a little different to the other players after a game of srummaging, in the scrum its a tight enclosed feeling, your pushing whilst trying to get the ball secured, you find that you are urging yourself to push forawrd it is easier than going back, going back you are re-setting your body and that can make it difficult to get anywhere, its a very strange 15 seconds or so, generally everything mentally and physically is tight and straining.

Who is the biggest bandit on Civil Service?

Johnny Cartwright is up there, I can imagine he would always be chating up every girl in the pub.

Shaved or unshaved?

Has to be shaved

Beers, wines or spirits?

Used to like a good Magners but I now like a bit of Morgan Spice
