An electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette, vapor cigarette or an e-cig, is an electrical inhaler that vaporizes a propylene glycol- or glycerin- or polyethylene glycol-based liquid solution into an aerosol mist, simulating the act of tobacco smoking. It is often marketed as a smoking cessation aid or tobacco replacement. -Wikipedia
How Does It Work?
E-cigarettes don’t burn tobacco, instead they deliver nicotine via vapor form. As you ‘smoke’ on the e-cig, liquid nicotine is drawn into the atomizing chamber where it’s heated and turned into a vapor. This vapor is then drawn into the mouthpiece, delivering the nicotine in the same way as a regular cigarette.
The diagram above shows the main components of an e-cigarette. Every e-cigarette typically contains 3 parts:

- The cartridge which holds the e-liquid solution with a hole for the user to inhale the vapour
- The atomizer which heats the e-liquid and turns it into vapour
- The power unit, consisting of the battery, an air flow activated switch and an LED indicator[/list_arrow_point]
In the disposable model all the parts are fully assembled and ready to dispose of when used. In the rechargeable models, the atomizer and cartridge are one unit, known as a cartomizer, paired with a rechargeable battery. In the more advanced models the atomizer and cartridge are separate and interchangeable
