The annual Ophir Rugby sevens tournament this year will be held over the weekend of the 20th/21st August. On Friday evening an u19s tournament will take place commencing at 6.30pm and on Saturday the main tournament will take place commencing at 1pm.
They are now taking entries from teams.

This event has been held annually since 1974 as the start of the Rugby season and attracts approx 12no Clubs competing over the course of the afternoon for the title concluding at approx 5.30pm with the Mayor- representing the main event sponsor Newtownabbey Borough Council – presenting the winners with the Will Totten Memorial trophy.
There will also be an u19s 7-a-side competition on Friday evening prior to the main event. This will feature approx 8no Clubs competing over the course of the evening for the Ken Bonar Memorial Trophy.
As well as the guarantee of a great days Rugby we also provide childrens entertainment, face painting, archery and refreshments to make this a fabulous fun filled occassion for the entire family.
