As you all may know, the Arctic challenge team are trekking up to the North Pole with 13 other fellow competitors on the 15th April. When we are up there they will look to make history by setting a Guinness World Record for playing the most northerly game of rugby in history, on top of the world, all for the children’s charity Wooden Spoon! Ollie Phillips and the team are hosting a few events prior to leaving for the trek. They are all fundraisers for the Wooden Spoon, but should also be a lot of fun too. They are detailed below, please try and come along as i would love to see you before i go.
Saturday 14th March – Equinox Cycle Slam
Equinox have teamed up as an official partner of the Wooden Spoon and are hosting a cycle slam at their flagship gym in High Street Kensington. They have invited all of their top trainers over from the US and are supporting it with their in house nutritionists and resident DJ to create a real party atmosphere.
The day starts at 10:30 – 13:30 and involves a team of 6 people hiring a spin bike (cost £100 total) and over the course of 3 hours, seeing how many miles they can clock up between them.
We have prizes for the top fundraisers and the cycle champions on the day, kindly donated by The Royal Garden Hotel and Kensington Roof Gardens.
I would love for you to join me on the day, sweat out the Friday night, raise some money for a great charity and have a lot of fun along the way.

We are also hosting an after party upstairs in Kensington Roof Gardens that all are welcome to, to sit down and watch the two Six Nations games that are on that day (Wales vs Ireland & England vs Scotland).
Saturday 21st March – Stoop Stomp
The Stoop Stomp is a timed stair climb challenge held at Harlequins home ground, The Twickenham Stoop in Twickenham. The course covers all 4 stands of the Twickenham Stoop and we want to see who can cover all 979 steps in the fastest time.
The event starts 11:00 – 13:00.
Entry is £25 per adult or £100 for a team of 5; £10 for children 8 years + (who must be accompanied by a paying adult); £35 for a team of 4 children running in relay (1 stand each)
£5 for spectators and supporters over 16 years.

,Friday 22nd May – Arctic Challenge Gala Dinner
We will be hosting our Gala Dinner at The Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane 19:00 – 01:00
This will be our first event following our return from the North Pole, in which we will sharing images, footage and stories from the trek, as well as celebrating our new Guinness World Record!
Ticket price is £175 per person OR £1600 for a Table of 10.
The ticket includes a 4 course meal, champagne reception and wine throughout the entire evening.

Saturday 27th June – Dodgeball Tournament
We will be hosting the event at Henley Rugby Club.
Teams will be comprised of 6 people, male or female, and there will be prizes for those that win and get those most hits.
Timings and costing are TBC, but it should be a cracking day out for all, so Save the Date.
