As he descended the stairs of the Shelbourne Hotel, a human necklace seemed to shield every elegant fitting in the lobby as well-wishers and back-slappers formed a fog of humanity to bid their heroes adieu.
“It was class,” gushes the Ulster star, recalling his match-day experience 11 days ago, when Ireland played Georgia.
“I’ve never ever seen anything like it. You’ve just about a metre space walkway to go through. Everyone is cheering and wishing you well. It’s quite a sight.”
