On Saturday 11th August 2012, the Mengal Taggers set off from Banbridge RFC for the IRFU Tag All Ireland Finals at Suttonians RFC…

This was their third trip to the finals having come 3rd in 2010 and runner up last year. The team were keen to go one better and win the competition outright to cap off what has been a remarkable season to date. The Taggers had already won the Spring and Summer leagues and broken the world record for the longest continuous game of tag rugby ever, having raised £20,000 for Cancer Research UK in the process.
