The second Quarter Final took place on Wednesday night of this year’s Nutty Krust Tournament with Banbridge U19s facing Omagh U19s.

On a perfect evening for rugby both teams served up an entertaining game of open rugby with both sides spreading the ball wide in search of try scoring opportunities.
It was Omagh who opened the scoring on 5mins with Michael Gibson scoring under the posts and was converted by Neil Mellon Banbridge replied on 14mins with a penalty scored by no 10 Macauley Lyttle. Both sides went looking for further scores but both defences stood firm until the 26th min when Stewart Walker crossed the line for Banbridge. Macauley Lyttle added the extra points. A penalty was then awarded to Banbridge on 29 mins which again was converted by Banbridge outhalf Macauley Lyttle. The lead was further increased in injury time when Banbridge’s no 13 Ben Cross went over to score and again Macauley Lyttle added the extra points

The second half continued as much as the first with further scores for Banbridge coming on 42 min through another kick at goal from Macauley Lyttle and a try on 50mins from Richard Graham . Omagh replied with Michael Gibson crossing the line to score his second try of the evening which was converted by Omagh’s no 10 Neil Mellon. Omagh continued to press forward for remainder of the game but Banbridge’s
defence held firm with no more scores for either team

Man of the Match award went to Banbridge no 9 Jason Gribben which was presented by Brian Irwin Tournament sponsor and President Portadown Rugby Club.
