Oakdale Meats (NI) Ltd has been operating since 1973, its primary business being the wholesaling of fresh beef and lamb. It has been the custom to produce and slaughter all stock locally with the preference for ‘Farm Quality Assured Stock’ as laid down by the Livestock and Meat Commission for N.I. Quality carcass beef selected to suit customer requirements with a full range of vacuum packed primal cuts also available. A full range of retail packs are available as the company continues to satisfy customer demands.
Oakdale Meats prides itself in the quality of its product and reliability of its service. Full EU status was awarded to the company in 1998 and it is with this accreditation that the firm intends to break into the U.K market and beyond. Oakdale Meats (NI) Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dungannon &
District Co – Op. Formerly known as ‘ Cavlan Meats ‘. The business was purchased by the Co – Op in 1974 and is now firmly established as a respected and reliable meat processing facility within Northern Ireland. Oakdale retains close links with the community, many of whom are shareholders and suppliers of livestock to the company.
MKL Meats was acquired in 1987, a well established business founded on traditional butchery skills. Both facilities operate HACCP systems which are continually under review. Quality checks by the Department of Agriculture officials and monthly assessments by veterinary staff result in high scores for both plants in their hygiene practices.
