The last of this years Quarter Final games of the Nutty Krust U19 Floodlit Tournament was held at Portadown RFC on Wednesday night 18th April . The contest was between Rainey U19s and Ballynahinch U19s.
On a bright sunny evening it was Rainey who kicked off proceedings playing with a slight breeze behind them but it was Ballynahinch who started the brighter and after only 2mins played opened the scoring through Connor Saunders after a line break from a tap penalty. The extra points were added by the try scorer 7-0 to Hinch. Rainey had a chance to reduce the arrears on 10mins with a penalty attempt by no 10 Martin Connolly but his effort was wide. Hinch went on the offensive looking for a further score but Raineys defence held good but on 16mins winger lee Graham rounded off a fine move to score in the corner to increase Hinchs lead. The conversion attempt by Connor Saunders missed hiiting the post . 12-0 to Hinch . Rainey fought back and nearly opened there account but no 19 Gavin O;neill was tackled short of the line. Rainey opened their account with an interception try scored by No 12 Rory Coleman running in from Hinchs 22. The extra points were added by Martin Connolly making the score 12-7 in Hinchs favour.Having fought their way back into the game Raineys had work was all undone when no 17 Chris Orr scored with a jinking run from his own 10 metre line . The conversion attempt by Connor was wide leaving the half time score 17-7 in Hinch;s favour.

The second half continued in the same way as the first with both sides trying to run the ball and it was Rainey who had the first scoring opportunity with a penalty but Martin;s attempt was wide . The same player did add a penalty 2mins later to reduce the lead to 17-10. On 55 mins Hinch extended their lead with Connor Saunders rounding off a break from the scrum to score his second try of the game . Again Connor added the extra points making the score 24-10. A further score was added by Graham Mckitterick on 65 mins when the pack drove over the Rainey line, but the conversion was missed 29-10. Rainey never say die attitude saw the last 5 mins played in the hinch half and they scored their second try of the game with full back Evan Shaw scoring in the corner making the final score 29- 10 in Hinch;s favour .
The Man of the Match award went to Ballynahinchs No6 Graham Mckitterick for his all round performance .
The draw for the Semi Finals was made in the Clubhouse after the match by Ireland and Ulster player Rory Best and Sponsor Brian Irwin (Irwins Bakery)
