First 15 finished their first league game of the season with a superb 12-10 win at home
Match Report on Newry u15’s against Banbridge u15’s. Newry 38- Banbridge 0
The game started with a Newrk kick off, Andrew McAteer kicking it to his pack. the Banbridge pack cought and were well tackled by Newry. after some great counter rucking by the Newry boys the won the ball and played it out the backs. this set the tone for the game as Newry pushed on. after a 22 drop out by banbridge Jack Mcclelland caught and ran, laying it off for Emmanuel Irwin to score his first try of the day.
Andrew pushed the conversion wide and the score stayed 5-0. After that Jack ran over for a try, then Emmanuel for another. Jack then got his second andJohn Madine opened his account for the day with a try, Andrew converting all of these. With 10 minutes to go Newry were winning 33-0. Emmanuel then got over after some great work by the backs for his 3rd try. A great first game for the u15’s.
