Namibia and Uruguay Cause Upsets on Day One of IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy 2014
The form book was turned upside down on day one of the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy 2014 in Hong Kong as two of the pre-tournament favourites, Canada and Japan, suffered surprise defeats against Namibia and Uruguay respectively.
2008 champions Uruguay kicked things off at the Hong Kong Football Club with a 33-28 victory over Japan but it is Namibia who top Pool B after an impressive 37-25 win against 2013 runners-up Canada.
In Pool A, Georgia proved too strong for Tonga with a 34-10 victory before 2012 champions USA scored four second half tries to beat host nation Hong Kong 37-0.

The tournament continues on Friday when USA face Georgia and Tonga tackle Hong Kong in Pool A, while Japan play Namibia and Canada take on Uruguay in Pool B.
