MRFC U17s 17 – 3 Donegal u17s
On a wet windy morning, MN got a good hard fought win over Dgl. It was a day for keeping the ball tight in the forwards and this MN done very well. MN’s first try came after good driving play by A. McGorman, Mc.Conkey and McGregor then ‘ROCKY’ picked and drove over from 2m. Dgl fought back but good tackling by the back row of McKenna , McGregor and McConkey who turned the ball over time and time again. As the game went on, the bigger MN pack drove towards Dgl line and from the ruck, McGregor found space and crashed over, conv. J.Graham.
More pressure from A.McGorman, Emily, McDonald forced Dgl to spill the ball over the try line and ROCKY was on hand to dive on the ball to score his 2nd try. It was not a day for open back play but J.Graham, E.Connly, K.Murphy, S.Mooney and R.Metcalfe put in some good tackles. Overall a good performance but we will have to up the pace away to Malone Sat. All players to attend training Thursday to let us know numbers for Sat.
